Shalakya tantra is a principal branch of Ayurved handling the diseases and treatment of Netra(Eye)) ,Karna(Ear),Nasa(Nose),Mukha(Throat) and Shira(Head).This branch is given prime importance Among the eight branches of Ayurved. Once moreduring year Netra Roga Vigyan has Utmost importance as a result of ,If vision is lost.

Avisuallyhandicappedpersonalthoughwealthy Cannot relishthe planetthusit’s Explained that “Sarvendriyanam Nayanam Pradhanam”. This science uses a lots of Shalaka (Probe) which justifies the name Shalakya tantra. We have a
well-developed OPD with all necessary Equipment’s and Instruments. We are teaching our students with the help of latest techniques so that they can serve the society in a better way.

Vision

➢ To conduct clinical posting in OPD with camps and assessment of theoretical knowledge is successfully.
➢ To popularize the treatments of Kriyakalpa like Tarpan,Aaschotana, Anjana, Bidalaka which are specialty of Netra roga and Nasya ,Gandusha, Dhoompana, Karnapoorana, which form the basis of karna, Nasa and Mukha roga.

Mission

➢ To provide best possible patient care with outmost competence in the area of Kriyakalpa procedure, surgical treatment and para surgical management.
➢ To spread awareness about Cataract, Glaucoma, Myopia and most occurring disease of Shalakya tantra.

Achievements

1. During the year, theoretical as well as practical teaching, training and guidance in the subject of Shalakya Tantra were provided to students of BAMS.
2. Students learned Shalakya Tantra by co-relating Ayurveda with modern diseases of ENT and Ophthalmology.
3. Various workshops and seminars were organized for the overall development of the students on behalf of Shalakya Tantra Department.
