The subject kaumarbhritya stands for Neonatology and pediatrics in Ayurveda. The fact that “Kaumarbhritya is the foremost branch among the basic eight specialties of Ayurveda, highlights its importance. The scope of the subject ranges from conception of the foetus until late adolescence.
